While putting New Year Goals into place for 2021, it may be worthwhile putting some thought into what our “roles” are exactly — in all of their various contexts.
Roles and duties vary.
Depending on where we fit into the equation, they’re never really the same twice.

How does the stone at the bottom differ from the one at the top and how do each of them fit into the bigger picture?
Which attributes better suit the stone at the bottom vrs the one at the top? The middle..?
How’s the over all synergy, harmony and balance?
In the overall equation, is every stone in its rightful place, supporting those above and below it?
How we “show up” as a parent, a spouse, a friend, an employee, an employer, a volunteer etc CHANGES EVERYTHING.
While there may be some similarities, our roles differ based on our position and the specific needs of those around us!
So,,, without compromising on our VALUES, keeping a flexible approach could serve everyone very well!!!
How we “show up” is a worthwhile consideration (when the goal is harmony, balance and ultimately SUCCESS)!!!
Consider the following :
• WHO needs our help? (Child, Boss, Spouse etc)
• What are THEIR needs — specifically?
• How do WE influence those needs?
• What may they require from US (both directly and indirectly) in order to excel?
• What does the BIGGER PICTURE look like?
• What is our specific ROLE in relation to it (based on everyone’s goals)?
If we’re doing a really EXCELLENT job of understanding and influencing people, then we never show up the same way twice. Everyone’s experience of us will be slightly different — our values remaining constant but our approach changing often!
Think about people’s impression of YOU for example...
One person may believe that you are super firm, while another thinks you are sweet. Some may rely heavily on your vision while others may never be exposed to it. Some think you have all the answers while others believe you offer few solutions. Some say you are engaging while others think you are reserved...
If you are a coach, you may hear yourself on a coaching call and think “WOW, I took a super strong/passionate approach with that client” while on another call (with someone who needed something very different from you in order to THRIVE), you carried yourself in a more passive fashion.
And no,,, this isn’t because you don’t know who you are or what you stand for either!
It’s the exact opposite in fact — you understand yourself, your approach and people so well that you are totally IN TUNE with it all!

What’s your ROLE and what does it require of you?
What’s your DUTY and what does it require of you?
END GOALS?
Give it some consideration as you put everything in place for 2021.
This will ensure SUCCESS (for both you and those who influenced by you)!!!
