I don’t know if you’re a foodie like me or not but do you remember how EXCITING it was as a child when your parents were in the kitchen cooking up a storm and you just COULDN’T WAIT to see (and more especially) taste “The Dish”?
“Is it ready YET?” I’d stand there in eager anticipation.
5 minutes would pass (that felt more like an hour).
“...Is it ready?” I’d ask yet again.
5 minutes more.
“...Is it ready???!”
Yeah, that was me. The chubby little girl, looking over my parents shoulders watching, anticipating and waiting. 👧🏼
Now, as a parent myself, it’s funny seeing this in my own children as the legacy continues.
It’s equally interesting to see how our own pleasures change as adults, the sense of gratification shifting from “being served” to “serving” — nourishing those we care about most (and enjoying together as a family) the ultimate gain.
This got me thinking about excitement in general...
Have you ever given thought to what truly EXCITES you and how this may have shifted over the course of time?
How have life’s “ingredients” changed for you?
What “dish” are you preparing to serve and WHY?
WHO are you serving?
And who is waiting to be served by you — in eager anticipation of “your dish”?
Have you ever given thought to how “your menu” is designed anyways?
Do you cook based on cravings, requests, nutrition, budget or maybe a bit of each?
What might this imply about you and your own VALUES?
Because values are a funny thing.
I like them because they are so revealing.
They correlate with MOTIVATION and therefore, PASSION.
If you are a little bit confused about what “fills you up in life” give thought to your own actions and what they may stem from.
What are you trying to accomplish and why?
And how does that WHY compel your own sense of gratification?
Just a little food for thought. 😉
And so with this,,, I am excited!
I’m excited about how our own ingredients as an enterprise are evolving.
It’s interesting to see who’s standing over our shoulders watching, waiting, yearning — in eager anticipation of what we’re serving next.
What are we getting ready to serve?
My, my.... the menu.
HOW FABULOUS!
I simply can’t wait to share it and serve it — to those who are patient enough to wait.
This dish may take a while... 😉
Keep cooking, keep serving, keep evolving.
XO Lauren 🤍
